My "breaking point was when Adam started "It Is Well".. Much of the very high harmony was actually Adam Rupp (beatboxer).

It's actually Adam covering the top harmony when Austin is singing lead. Go Adam!!

Believe it or not, those high "descants" were actually shared between Austin, Tim (!), and Adam Rupp!!!! 😳🎶❤

This is my favorite version of this hymn. The emotions just come putting out! Home Free's 5-part harmonies are the best in the business.

Adam Rupp can sing those very high notes, too. I love it when we have the chance to hear him sing. I had gotten to the point that I pretty much hated this song—too many bombastic versions had plagued my ears. This is the only version that I enjoy and that touches me. Thanks for sharing your insights!

Perhaps my favorite out of all of HF’s works! The Almighty was with these gentlemen when they recorded this. It is epic! Great analysis!

Good morning. Great reactions! Chance can also reach those high notes but, I believe Austin was the one hitting that high at the end. Also, if you would like to hear something mind blowing, listen to this version they did in a storm. No electronics. Home Free Kearney, MO How Great Thou Art 6.17.2017 Complete Recording. Now I was told by a friend in the comments that there are maybe 4 or 5 other videos of this same venue out there, but I haven't had a chance to check them out yet. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Have a great day!

It might be Adam (beatboxer who sang “it is well”). He is a tenor who can sing high as well. Love this! It’s one of my favorites of theirs. This was filmed in the Austrian Alps when touring there. For other favorites try I Can’t Outrun You, Helplessly Hoping, Yours. So beautifully done. Good one!

That could be Adam Rupp. He has a very high tenor range which we don't often get to hear because he is usually beat boxing.

One of their most beautiful performances. The bonus is we get to hear Adam's (the beatboxer) sweet voice. Thanks for the Home Free reactions

Their version of this is stunning! In my opinion they have the best 5 part harmonies in the business! If you enjoyed this you would love their version of Amazing Grace with Peter Hollens and one of their more intricate 5 part harmonies and arrangements (lots of crunchy chords) I would suggest Angels We Have Heard On High. Thank you for your heartfelt analysis.

This song has been a favorite in my family for many years (I'm 74 yrs old), and sung many times around my aunt's organ. We all sang in the church choir... my dad and brother sang baritone, my mom was a soprano, my grandma was an alto but could sing high enough that she would sing tenor, and i was a 2nd soprano/alto. My grandpa was a retired minister and also sang tenor. This beautiful hymn was sung at my parents' funerals and my grandparents' funerals. They had the traditional church version, but, should i have a funeral, I'd like Home Free's version to be played. It was the first time i had ever heard HF sing, and i fell in love with their wonderful harmonies.

You would be surprised how many reactors walk all over that last note. It is wonderful.

This hymn definitely makes me emotional--Home Free's version is my very favorite version of all the many, many I have heard 😍

Besides the unbelievable 5-part harmony--and gorgeous backdrop of the Austrian Alps--getting to hear Adam Rupp's sweet tenor actually singing is a real treat ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️

Tim sings deep bass and Chance is also singing bass. And Adam Rupp is singing the highest notes. 5 part Harmony is simply amazing to hear

"It is Well" always gets me to, I always thought of it as a ‘black’ hymn. Glad to see it works across the spectrum. Seeing colors in music is synesthesia. Cool that you have that, I wish I did.

I think this is one of the best versions of this song. Tim Foust's bass really carries the song. I found Home Free 3 years ago & love these 5 talented guys. Their harmonies are the best in the business. This is one of the few songs where you get to hear Adam Rupp's (beatboxer) sweet tenor voice during "It Is Well". And the scenery is awesome filmed in the beautiful Austrian Alps (my dad came from that area).

The descant is Adam! As an Alto 2, I appreciate your remark about enjoying it when the tenor doesn’t always have the lead! Once when I was in a touring choir (about 80 voices), the director had us doing scales. ‘Drop out when it’s too low for you.’ When he stopped he said ‘I hear 3 voices. Raise your hands.’ Two Alto 2s & 1 bass. My seatmate & I gave the bass section a hearty Bronx cheer! 😅

Thank you for your heart-felt reaction! Sung beautifully by #HomeFree! Please keep the Home Free coming. 😊

Both are favourite hymns that bring many precious memories and emotions with them for me too. It Is Well With My Soul has been sung at every family funeral I can remember (for my father when I was in my teens, to my mom who passed in her 90's, and sister who passed suddenly/unexpectedly 2 years ago) - and other extended family in-between, including my parents-in-law. My father was a pastor and former missionary; during his service our pastor asked that all other pastors who were present to come and sit in the choir loft - I've never seen it so full of 40+ men! When it came to singing It Is Well, he had them sing the 3rd verse; that's when the tears started as my father loved a good men's choir and this was almost heavenly.

As a person of faith it is a comforting hymn for me that can be very emotional as I think of them with their Saviour. Also, my mom passed with a smile and a sigh while listening to How Great Thou Art, a favourite hymn of hers too. Happy tears for me.🥲

It may have been Adam Rupp on the high tonic at the end.
