Sockets usually fall to bits inside with heat and ramming plugs into them. Rough handling...

Thought of you today Delroy actually... had an MICC fault...but an odd one. Neutral had blown open inside the pot during a fault, had to reterminate (fortunately it was at the CU so was able to terminate into a coupler with a bush) I am guessing original installer nicked the neutral while stripping?

I actually remember a similar socket issue where a tenant had dropped something on to the side of the socket. The front of the socket did not break, but both the lug in the box and half the inside of the socket had broken. I took it apart and literally half the socket fell to pieces, much like the one in the video did. We were called there because only half the socket was working and finding what we did was very odd.

Kitchen sockets are prone to large loads like kettles being plugged in and out more often than most other sockets. Wouldn’t have been surprised to see it had been getting hot as well and got brittle over time.

How does it work with filming clients property? Do you have to get them to sign a waiver to say you can use their home footage for social media??

Normally the socket breaks like that when they over torque the sockets screws

wondering how much you charge per socket replacement? around here in Reading, UK it's 90 quid callout including first socket but was going to be charged over 200 quid for 3!

Really like your content, Delroy. This is what it's actually like day in day out as a jobing spark. The others on here are good but a bit too glossy. This is the real life
