These videos are great. Getting ready for my checkride, I've been watching lots of different videos to prep for it and your videos are among the very best.

I don't very often subscribe or even like videos. But these are among the best I've seen and is immensely helping me prepare for my upcoming checkride. Thank you

Great video!! Another reason for always having an alternate destination, even in perfect VFR whether, is that you don't know if your intended airport is going to shutdown unexpectedly, say for a crash. It happens.

You are one of my favorite Aviation teacher. It is just a bit fast sometimes and so I slow down the video...and sometimes I just stop you and ask questions...you are doing a great job...Thanks so much...

Got my private in '75. Rented cessna 150's and 152's at local airport regularly at local airports for 40 years. Never had any problem at all. Its fun to just take a friend up and cruise the local area. Its cheap, and you dont have to rent a 4 seater just to go up by yourself. Now i got a boat. 😊

Captain Josh! Now that I hear there's a pilot shortage, your videos Josh have been helpful in my journey to make my childhood dreams come true in the civi aviation world (passed military aircrew testing, but if stars don't allign still since before pandemic with the "changing budgets, " civi is still great) as I've been saving money from my current software job to get back to a flying career if affordable.

For the FAR 91.103 acronym in this video, it could be a pneumonic for "what does any pilot do in a preflight action?" A pilot WANTS Fuel. Then, it's a more intuitive acronym.

I flew gliders back in 2012 in cadets at 15, had a few unfortunate life events I don't control up to my undergrad, and I'm cleared from an AME for a Category 1 as of meeting them last week most likely unless suddenly revoked.

Failure is good! If that gets represented through my long-term career, I'm grateful if all the volunteering; learning from the updated materials including your visually clear and architecturally pleasing videos; and marks from all the exams are enough to reflect the merticocracy.

Josh, keep making more videos and I hope to become like you to whatever extent that the stars allign.

Heads up to people on the 24 calendar month flight review, there's a small mistake in the vid. He calls it a Biannual flight review, Biannual actually means twice a year which is incorrect. The correct term is Biennial, which means every 2 years.

Your next video should be about how to calculate weight and balance, while throwing pallets of cargo and vehicles out of a C130.

My Dad was part of the team between Lockheed and later, also a key integrated avionics and more, electronic defense, Comms, etc contractor, when the first integrated avionics suites were placed on the AC-130s. That was also when the USAF - and Lockheed - first “fully realized” the previously unknown “extent” of exactly how high fidelity (sensitive) radar tech actually is. Previously the analog driven monitors had been the limiting factor.

And so, “Stealth” was born.

Instead of your acronym WANTS. I like to use ANWKRAFT. All north west Kraft.

All available info
Notams
Weather
Known atc delays
Runway lengths
Alternates available
Fuel requirements
Take off and landing distances

Great video though very useful and helping me study.

You mentioned getting paid to do aerobatics. I actually brought this up in my checkride. I can’t find a source that shows this without having a commercial rating. Can you share more on this? I passed my checkride, your videos made it a breeze!

In my career as a flight paramedic we(the pilot) occasionally time out away from our base. When the next shift comes in it could be a 3 hour drive each way to change out. As a PPL am I allowed to be on the clock for the hospital and fly the next crew down and the off going crew back to minimize out of service times?
