Thanks for this video. I 'glad you liked my city and our food and il maritozzo con panna (unbeatable) You know, we cook everyday at home even if now young people go to fast food or order from home. But now you know why it's hard for us when we travel and it comes to eating. When I travel I always take with me a little moka and coffee powder. I can try local food but I can't live without espresso lol.

Nice video, many foreigners hearing about italian food think that there are special places to eat it, it's true but only in part, in reality it is part of italian culture and everywhere you go you could find something special and good to eat in italy.
I am Italian and even today I discover new interesting places and foods that I had missed.

In Italy at the restaurant you can ask for tap water, but you have to explicitly ask for it, because since Italians deem that a "low class" choice usually they don't ask for that at the restaurant (often even at home, so...). But if you ask for it, they have to bring it to you and it's free. Don't be fooled if they say that the tap water is not good: in Rome we have a very good tap water (it's the same water of the "nasoni", the little drinking fountains all around the city).
There can be a trick they use to make you pay even ofr tap water: they present it to you as "microfiltered water", i.e. treated with a system to make it less chlorinated and rich of calcium carbonate, but the chlorine taste in tap water isn't so strong usually (just a bit when you open the tap the first time in the morning, and not every day), while the calcium carbonate is very present, but it doesn't affect the taste so much.
