DIY Woodworking Bench Vise - Quick and Easy Shop Project

This DIY Woodworking Bench Vise is an easy and quick shop project that will serve you well. I used my Microjig clamps and accessories and some scrap wood on this project and it only took me about 45 minutes to make. Nice job. Just started using micro jig clamps and will be building this vise, a tabletop to use as a workbench and the taper/jointer/tall fence combo. I like your presentation style and how you adapted this concept for a workbench you already have.

That is exactly what I was looking at doing to my workbench in my very small shop area. The only change I will have to make is that the vise has to be removable because I have to use the shelf under the bench for tool storage (again, VERY small shop), so I will probably use threaded insert nuts in the bench and countersink some bolts in the vise. Thanks for the 'proof of concept!'

I was planning my work bench, and thought I had it planned yesterday, but today, I discovered the 360 bench. Now I'm planning on building one. I'll start with the table saw sled. I'm newbie, so I have to be a little confident I can do it before tackling something like this.

My shop is tiny, 9' x 9'. I'll be building about a 2.5 x 4.5' work bench that will be mobile.

I was thinking of using a 1/2 MDF and 3/4 sacrificial plywood for the top. But with this system, I wonder if it will work with the plywood.

I just saw someone else who did a vice. He used hickory across the length of his workbench. I'll have to plan for that, but first, I have to see if I can get the top of my bench to work....

This clamping idea seems to be the best. I'm hoping it works out.

All you here now is T track T track T track, dovetail groves and clamps are much cheaper and more versatile. 👏🏻👍🏻🇬🇧
