I think Nintendo knew that alot of people complained about the Wii's graphic capability compared to the PS3 and 360 and they made Wii U 1080p compatibile while the Wii was only 720p. Yeah but i agree Mario has always been about innovation not graphic. Graphics are nice but gameplay is one of the most important things.

The graphics are way too similar here. I was more impressed with the graphics jump from DS to Wii, than Wii to U. 2 actually had worse graphics than Wii. 3D World did a better job showing Wii U's capabilities.

I have to say after playing it, it actually looks pretty amazing, this video doesn't do it justice. That polished feel just makes it look much more vibrant. If the level design is good enough it could end up being the best of the 'new' series.

this showcases one of my major gripes with the NSMB series-you can barely tell the difference in the design. if you took SMB1, SMB2, and SMB3, you can tell which is which. in comparison, take NSMB and NSMB2, and you may have to take several looks before spotting differences.

I can see the difference slightly, HD adds better light sourcing and lightly smoother but, thats really it in Characters, the backgrounds take the improvement.

It's like what Capcom did with the Okami HD trailer. Purposely captured video of the previous iteration with a low bitrate just to make the HD version look 10x better.
