Ethanol is terrible for engines and kills small engines.

No. Ethanol in gas has less energy per gal than gas and that means you will get worse gas mileage. It is bad for gaming because it covers food production into wasteful alcohol production. Production of ethanol used more energy than you get out of the fuel so there is a large loss there.
