I honestly love hearing you think outloud and seeing all the prep work and decision-making that goes into your final pieces.
I know it's a naive but it's honestly a really good reminder for me that other artist prep the same way I do and that I should lean into it and not put so much emphasis on 'intuitity' (is that a word?)

Something about watching you paint with gouache reminded me of why I became an artist in the first place: the love of the creation process. Somewhere a long the way through making art for uni assignments and professionally, I had lost that love, but watching these videos really remind me that it never went away, I just needed to go back to the basics and appreciate art for what it is - a process.

This colour palette is perfect. So fitting for the piece. It has the feeling of floating through a dreamscape. The green and orange would have been really harsh for such a gentle creature in my opinion. This is visually arresting in a different way. Beautiful work!

I've also been drawing New Year pieces over the last couple of years and getting to know more about my heritage. My family live in Malaysia! but we are Chinese and I was born in the UK. I love your work so much and it's inspired me so much over the years, and now I am in the process of looking for a job in illustration!

I really like that colour palette, to me it gives its own identity from the previous years whilst still being part of it as a series. It also doesn't beholden you to the same palette every year. I am also amazed that you can find your lines again so easily after doing an ink wash over a piece, it's one of the reasons why I work in fine liner. This was such a nice video!

This is beautiful, i’m year of the rabbit and i’ve always felt so proud and happy about that 🥰 the music mixed with the visuals was so pleasing 🤍 i think that with the cute shape of the border on the piece, it would make a great little trinket tray or a larger serving tray, just a little idea :-)
