My mother is losing her vision, and she describes seeing phantom cats, which she knows are not real. Like you, she thinks it's sort of neat that she gets her own private show! In her case, she's not interested in "fixing" this, as the phantom cats are like comforting companions to her. Fascinating stuff!

My gosh. I was born with Albinism and blindness. I experience this all the time. I get people, creatures, and things. I have learned over the years that my brain is at work telling me that something is there. I should pay attention. You are the first one to speak about it openly. For the longest time, there is a stigma around hallucinations. It wasn't always wise for me to share this information with those around me.

As someone who has worked with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community for over 25 years - and on many occasions, people with vision loss - this pushes the envelope in accessibility content. Rich with layers of nuance, and very ey- catching content! Fab🥳🎉

I'm sighted, but I have hallucinations like this as part of my migraine auras. I can see them more clearly if I close my eyes, and especially as I'm falling asleep, I just relax into enjoying the show! I'm glad you experience this as pleasant too.

My sight loss is neurological and my optic nerves are damaged. I see countless neon like worms constantly wriggling away when it's bright but I also get a really bright orange ball of light or numerous smaller ones. I also experience static from time to time. Tiredness and stress always makes my hallucinations worse. By the way, another great video!!

I have the colored blobs like you when my eyes are closed. When they’re open, the things I look at just get stuck in my sight. So If I’m looking at someone’s face, then look to the wall, their face is on the wall for a few seconds. And there’s static like my eyes don’t get reception.

Yes omg yes fireworks all the time sometimes things I think are bugs my doctor explained that it isn’t anything to be afraid of just our brains playing tricks on us because it isn’t getting what it needs

My partial vision causes a lot of gaps my brain fills in. Trying to filter out the real data vs unreal is so annoying. It can be a beam I’ll run in to (nope) or as unsettling as moving bugs (oops).

It is sometimes nice like a dragon or gnome but that’s rare. Usually my brain thinks I’m in danger. Unfortunate

I have RP, it's fascinating how my brain can take a fallen branch and turn it into a sitting medium sized dog, or a long corrugated iron fence becomes a train carriage. A front porch light becomes tgis weird floating light.
I wear a body cam at night now. That way I can come back later and work out on the screen who spoke to me, or what the phantom image really was.

I really like that you use the font that is easiest to read for people with dyslexia. I think that's a nice thing you do. I appreciate it

Though I don't get these exact symptoms, my specific visual condition has me seeing some weird things.

The cells in my retina that function in bright light don't exist. When it's very bright out, I do not have any functional vision. However, if I look at something, blink hard, and close my eyes. I get an after image of whatever I was looking at for a very short amount of time before it fades. I would say it's about a 3-second delay from when I look at something and close my eyes, to when I get the blurry unfocused after image of what I was trying to see. It fades in from the complete white I normally see, then Fades out just as quickly.

If I'm looking at bright lights, and I close my eyes, I get pulsing flashing bubbly sort of things where the bright lights were in my field of vision. Those can last about 5 minutes.

If I've just walked into a bright environment from a dark one, I get lots of little sparkles flashing in my vision. It's like if someone turned on a TV and you had the old fashioned static, but brighter and more sporadic.

Interesting how everyone's vision is affected a little bit differently!

My grandma experienced them for a long time. She also got color splotches, most of the time it would be big blobs of multiple colors at once

I can’t believe that I have someone that knows about this! I really thought I was going crazy! Though I have had very bad eyes most of my life, I went blind three years ago. Since then, I have had these type of hallucinations in the eyes, it did not understand it. And since I use THC for sleep, I thought I was actually experience in some type of demon issues, lol! Now I know how to do the research.

Woah! I’m a seeing person, and I have these hallucinations as well, not as much recently, more so when I was younger. Never knew other people had them! I love your channel, I always get to learn something new :)

I also see some illusions, like floating balls and colorful patterns. Sometimes, it is very distracting, but other times, it is very engaging.

Oh yes, I definitely experienced that. I’ve been experiencing wait. I can’t say the word, but I’ve been experiencing that since I’ve been a little girl. Because I’ve been blind since about six months old from the hands of my birth mother.

I am not blind but the way you describe your visual hallucinations sounds a lot like what I see behind my eyelids if I put on some music and just "zone in" on it. It is pretty cool to watch
