I read four more issues of Die today, oh boy it is enchanting - I am loving it's emotional gut punches! Put it to the top of your TBR pile!

I haven't been into comics long but I've quickly developed a pretty big backlog, mainly because I go for discounted/thrift buys of interesting series, so piecemealing volumes of 4 or 13 trades can take some patience, that's why I've read less then a quarter of my comics. Recently I've got a few series collected, and their waiting for a good time (I've got a much bigger backlog of normal books, assembled in a similar way), some I can supplement with what the public library has, which is (annoyingly) often pretty piecemeal itself!

After Die, I can move onto Moore's Swamp Thing, Bone, Y the Last Man, Fables, the Unwritten, Monstress, Saga, Coda, Dave Makean's Cages...and I'm halfway through Sandman.

There's more then that, not so far along. but with my preference for reading straight from beginning to end, I'll have to be a bit more strategic when it comes to marvel and DC - I mean I have Infinity Gauntlet also, but it's like it seems wrong to just go into that without a little backstory, but of course not the full Marvel history - don't have the space or money for that. _(Plus the writing from the early 60's is a little painful)_

At least with Hellboy I can read the first omni, make sure I'm as into it as I think I'll be, before I collect that long series.

My biggest problem is being a sucker for a bargain. Whether it's the warehouse sales at Travelling Man, the clearance menu at Forbidden Planet or cheap second hand pick ups through car boot sales or charity shops I end up with a lot of books that haven't been priority pick ups and have a hard time finding their way to the top of the reading stack.

I can tell we have similar taste. Here are my recs on what to tackle.

It's Oct, read Something is Killing the Children. It is an awesome page turner that you can finish in like an hour.

Next I Kill Giants is slower to begin with be halfway through it hits hard and then I was in tears.

Lastly my favorite series of all time is Deadly Class. You need to actually read the whole run at once. Remender knows how to write flawed, complex characters and oh buddy this is his best work.
