Hi and welcome to a brand-new build from the Shed of Dreams where I attempt to create a copy of my first ever build, using the same kit of tools. This means all of the machines I rely on week in week out will be off limits. This could get interesting!

I mention a set of plans for this build and they can be found using the following link…

The great thing about being so occupied starting my channel is, I haven’t had time to watch videos. Now I can binge watch this segment. Great video😎🤙

Man the timing of this video is impeccable! Literally one week ago I bought lumber for my first guitar build. I have a beautiful piece of European oak for the body and fretboard. I haven't bought wood for the neck yet but it is likely going to be build from birch. Your semi hollow thinline telecaster build is one of the most beautiful teles I have ever seen and I am basing my build off of that.

My first hand plane was a 6 also. I still think it's the perfect size for most things. Nice all purpose plane.

I'm planing to build my first guitar, and I just bought some tools like your first build! 😂 Wish me luck. I will follow this serise and I hope, to learn one or two thing from you. 😊
I will build a tele too, but a thinline tele.😊

A great idea. I’m still using most of the tools I did my first build with. I shall enjoy this!

I built a tele with tone rider alnico II pickups and it’s the best sounding tele I’ve got.

IDK where people got the idea that power tools give you instant skill. It takes time to learn how to use any tool. Hand or powered. I've had many people say things like "well if I had the right tools I could that". Hogwash! Don't get me wrong Patrick you know I've been with you from the very start. You're building your channel very well. And it's wise to keep your subs engaged. Something I am apparently unable to do. I wouldn't do a hand tool only build even on a dare. Took a long time to get as skilled as I am at woodwork no point in handicapping myself.

Looking forward to this. I've enjoyed your various builds, but have you considered building an acoustic guitar (or have you already done this in the past)?

What a cool idea! I have a pretty minimal setup myself but I don't think I'd go back to day one myself... But can't wait to see you do it!😊

The build on. Have been waiting for! Would be good to have some comment as you go along of what kit you have bought since that makes a really significant difference. Like slotted rules, neck radius gauges and the like.

Hi Patrick. I’ve been binge watching your channel since I found it a few months back, but I’ve never commented. So firstly, a HUGE thank you for your generous sharing of knowledge. I have learned HEAPS! To the point where I’m about to build my first guitar. Interestingly, I don’t have a lot of hand tools so I’m going to challenge myself to only use cordless construction tools so I may have to reinvent a few wheels. It’ll be fun to compare notes😊
You’ve covered so many types of guitars it’ll start getting hard to find something different. Some food for thought……. I’d like to see your take on a Danelectro.
Thanks again.

very much looking forward to the new series!

just finished my first telecster build a month ago. still working on it though, had to reshape the neck for the third time now because of hand pain. incredible how sensitive the hand is to things you cant see with the bare eye. also used handtools only ( except for the router and drill ), water based diy and tru oil for finishing.

anyways, your videos made it possible or at least so much easier for me, so thanks and best of luck with the new build!

Awesome, really looking forward to this series! Any chance you might consider a humbucker in the bridge position as well? If that's not your cup of tea, I'd really appreciate some comments on how to go about that in regards of routing, type of bridge, etc. Keep up the good work, love watching your videos! :)

I just get into your videos, and they end? Keep up the fantastic work, I wish I had the talent, time, space, and money to make guitars.

I have a nice blank piece of Bubinga for a fretboard if you want it. If you do let me know and I'll post it to you.

Battered Tele… or Is it reliced? It looks like a really roadwork instrument.
