The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro is here! Best camera for MTB 🙌

The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro is here. It is released today! In this video I share the most important info about DJI's new camera and tell you why I will be using this camera for the foreseeable future.

The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro is DJI's latest camera. It builds on the success of the trusted Osmo Action 4, adding some major changes that make this camera something special.

So why Pro?

The DJI Osmo Action 5 pro features a new generation 1 / 1.3 inch sensor, it achieves up to 13.5 stops of dynamic range compatible to the native super dynamic range of professional cameras. This high dynamic range impacts 4K60 frames a second video as well as significantly enhancing low light performance and doubling the signal to noise ratio in low light settings. In other words, the video image quality from the Osmo Action 5 Pro is better than ever. This is particularly noticeable in lowlight where the image of the Osmo Action 5 pro is out of this world.

The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro also features a new pro level chip. It is the industry's first high performance 4nm chip. This makes it super power efficient, allowing it to do more complex things such as subject centering and tracking. When using the Osmo Action 5 Pro for shooting MTB, the camera works quickly and seamlessly.

There is a new pro level battery for the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro. This is the industry's first action camera with a four hour battery life. It also has two pro level oh LED screens making the camera far more usable.

An absolutely top notch review Jamie. The most slick presentation that I have seen so far. After seeing your earlier review I was on the verge of going for the Action 4 but now I am having a wee bit of a re-think. I recently enjoyed some rides at The North Third and my GoPro 9 Black was OK but the stabilization was 'off' somewhat. With Winter coming I like the idea of the Osmo 4 or 5 coping better with stabilization in low light. Cheers. Stoozer. 👍🏻

Loving the camera and mic setup of this, had the gopro with dji mic which was a nightmare for me to synce, and having to press sometimes three separate buttons just to start one run! Now got the action 5, means just one button to press, and no more syncing 🤩

Out of interest, what are you running your transmittor gains at when connected to the camera?

Thanks, funny, I have an Aether 9C with with the same cap, stem, and bars so your cockpit looks very familiar! I've heard that the bitrate is really low, but it seems like your footage doesn't seem to show too many artifacts, and that could be a Youtube thing.

To me DJi is the way to go for Action cameras..just need to save and get one.
I use GoPro Hero 10..and my work colleague told me to get a DJi Osmo..I didn't listen..now I wish I did .

I do MTB Night riding and the night option is fabulous compared to GoPro and I stopped at the GoPro 10 so this should be a great upgrade for me oh, I’m waiting for DJI Osmo 5 Pro on the mail.
