Grand abolisher is still great in casual though, gotta have to disagree with you there. The glorious peace of mind of going into combat without having to worry about shenanigans is worth years of therapy!

I personally think destiny spinner is good in commander. It's a decent body, has a good if not always relevant first effect, and if nothing else you can make your lands into creatures if you need to.

grand abolisher literally says your spells cant be countered on your turn idk how that isnt usable in casual edh

Maybe there’s just an oversight of varied deck construction going on here, or a belief that certain strategies are not casual EDH like storm or any fast linear strategy.

But these takes seem like a lot of “every casual EDH deck is a midrange deck” assumptions to me.

Silence, Orim Chant and Grand Abolisher are good in general
The ability to not be interact with is better and 7-8 power level tend to close cedh

Destiny Spinner amazing in either format, its an easy blow out in an enchantment deck.
Chain of vapors is more of a political piece in casual games "im going to remove you biggest threat are you going to salty remove one of mine or hit another relevant piece of an opponent"
And Ranger Captian/Silence effects i see more as stopping my opponents from winning than protecting my own pieces

P-blast and Red E Blast are like... literally the only hard counters mono red gets. Closest thing you get otherwise is relying on Another counterspell being active to change the target to what you need countered. I'd run them all day in any meta, sometimes you just Need the Counter at the table

Man, I just realized Tarnished Citadel would go great in my Greven deck.

Noxious revival can also be used to disrupt your opponents graveyard recursion. “Oh were you about to reanimate that razaketh? Now it’s on top of your deck and you have to find another way to entomb it”

I like how amber is part of the main cast now.

I always run pyroblast and REB if I have red but not blue, because if theres a blue player i want that interaction against theirs, and if its a dud I'm happy im not facing blue, lmao

I had that BVZ dispel in foil, and I ran it in my esper deck just because of how damn PRETTY it was

I think that you undervalue the fast mana rocks with unap cost...
In normal commander - its much easier to "pay" the cost if game takes longer. Its allows you to take "weaeker turn" to then make the super turn... It allows you to speed up start a LOOT, and then in later game, its allows you to do even more... Like TURN1 Mana Valut - allows you do play CMC5 in TURN 2 !!! Then it deals you 2-3 dmg., and in turn 4-5 you play CMC 7-8
spell...

Plus for Grim Monolith ther are a lot infinity mana combo - what is still amazing in normal comander if you want to play this type of efects...

I think generaly you made a list not for "commander" but for "commander without ifinity combo" - thats ok - but a lot if US play commander not cEDH and still use ifitniy combo ;) I think the "high power" commnader is most popular from all "types" of commander play...

I think Destiny Spinner and Wishclaw Talisman are the two that I'd disagree with you guys on, as I think it's more accurate to say they have their roles change when looking at regular commander. Destiny Spinner for instance is still a perfectly good card, but you have to care about its type and activated ability. Wishclaw is a great political card, or option if you need to help someone else search for an answer to whatever the big threat on the board happens to be.

OK I’ve been watching you guys for a long ass time and I’ve never watched you guys on my actual birthday till today

Chain of vapor seems pretty sweet. If two people have bonkers threats and I target one of them, will that player not get rid of the other threat out of spice? As long as politics works ok, tht card could bounce two dangerous things, get rid of some mana, and heck even make you a friend if you play it right. For one mana it has alot of potential, not to mention how multiple people can get engaged in whats happening, all for a single mana.

All my tables DO have Blue ... and so I play Destiny Spinner in my Goreclaw and Tuvasa decks... but I totally agree with all the rest of the video. Great content as always guys

I hate seeing Bob on here due to how addicted I am to that card, but I'll still probably die to my Bob triggers before I cut it XD
