This is my policy too. I accept cancellation requests on any item that hasn't shipped yet. This is for the self serving reason of avoiding unnecessary drama for myself haha. The buyer has already decided they don't want the item for whatever reason, so why invite bad feedback, the hassle of a return, etc to prove a point?

What I find most annoying is when an item has a lot of watchers and someone buys and cancels. All of those watchers etc. are gone, if they had some way to get that back/notify those watchers that it was relisted, I would feel a lot better about it. Regardless I will always immediately put it through, unless I have already shipped it out.

If it’s not sent, I cancel it, if the label is printed but not dropped off yet, I cancel it and cancel the label. I would never not cancel unless it’s already sent. If you don’t cancel it can go bad fast, inad, negative feedback, chargeback. Always cancel, then list it for a bit more, it sold in the past and it will sell again.

I cancel and block. Figure they are going to return or do charge back if I don't cancel. Save myself problems.

Might as well accept the cancellation - if not a return will be their next move and possibly a bad feedback rating.

Jon, I have always accepted a cancellation request as long as I have not yet printed the label and/or shipped. I usually wait several hours before I print a label anyways so it gives them time. If I do not accept their request, I am risking a "NOT AS DESCRIBED" or some other bogus claim for a return once they receive the item. If they are adamant they will find a way to cancel and/or get refunded. I prefer to be proactive rather than putting out a MUCH bigger fire. I appreciate you and Jenna! God bless!

I've always cancelled when requested if the label hasn't been paid for yet. When I get an angry threatening cancel request I just tell them "No need to get angry. I accept all cancellations if done before shipped. Otherwise it has to go through a return request." Normal I get a thank you response and some kind of apology for getting upset.
This is nothing compared to people not showing for an in person pick up on Facebook Marketplace etc.

I don't think that a buyer should have to contact a seller. That only exacerbates that negative buyer experience you talk about. Having a simple cancel button and then moving on expecting the order to be canceled makes for a better buyer experience. It's like that on Amazon and Walmart. You just get a message that the buyer requested to canceled and you cancel the order. Shipping an order after the buyer requested to cancel is asking for negative feedback or a return. Then your out that cost of shipping and may get negative feedback. It's really not a big deal. Cancel the order, relist it, and move on. I had a cancellation request this morning on Ebay and the guy said he's having banking issues. Is it true? I don't know and really don't care. I messaged him "No problem" cancelled the order, and moved on with my life.

It’s honestly just better to cancel the sale for them in a professional way. And tell them you understand completely.. Sometimes you can get a later sale from them perhaps give them a 10 percent coupon and it might turn into a new customer

I block all buyers who cancel orders. Chances are they cancel often

Easy come, easy go. Just cancel the order, unless you like INADs and paying return shipping.

Thanks Jon. I had a cancellation request by message from a seller. I had already shipped it before they reached out. I was upset, but I rushed up to the post office and quickly retrieved the package. I just ate the cost of the label and moved on. Totally sucked, but I did the right thing.

I have had two cancellations…years ago. I had no issues with the request, as I would rather have them have a happy cancellation experience, than having a bitter buyer. Another better buyer will come along!

I just cancel and wait for the next buyer to buy it. If it's a good item, it will sell eventually.

I have had 4 cancellations within the past month, all with no additional communication from the buyer. All have been either immediately after purchase or within a few hours. One buyer submitted an offer that I accepted, and after they paid, asked to cancel with no explanation. Since there was no communication, I will wait about 2 days (giving them time to communicate) refund them and then block them. The one who bid, paid and then cancelled, I left feedback with **** around it stating they did not honor their bid on my item. I would feel totally different if there was an apology and/or professional communication.

I wouldn’t block the buyer who cancels. He may have made a mistake or talked with a family member who disagreed or a negative balance on their card. We all make mistakes, so give them at least one chance!

Buyer: Please cancel
Seller: No.
Buyer: Pretty please?
Seller: No!
Buyer. 😠
Seller: 😊
*Item delivers
Buyer: Negative Review ✅ Item Not As Described ✅ Gets Refund ✅
Seller. 😠🤬😠THIS GUY IS A SCAMMER 😠🤬😠
Buyer:😊✌️I tried playing nice.

I been having people buy and then cancel right away. I just accept it since they will ship it back either way and block them.
