I agree, I was told to start cutting first being skinny fat. when I feel like building muscle while eating clean will work for me

As a skinny fat guy this is So true, im nearly two years into training and all i can say is PUT ON FCKING MUSCLE. You haveeee to build the foundation first before cutting, thankfully i had a w mindset and learnt from heaps of otehr skinny fat dudes and im starting to really get massive, nearly benching 225 for reps.

as a skinny fat guy and from my experience..
focus on only two things. 1. strength training, focus on getting stronger
2. watch your diet, intermittent fast will help. protein is extremely importsnt

this is so true when i start cutting my body looks so small with small muscles even tho im lean. I start gaining more weight and workout at the same time and i definitely look way better even if i have a. belly and i feel less hungry and a bit healthier.

Thanks. I’ve been dealing with a shoulder injury for like 8 months now. I’ve only been able to do stuff like jump rope, biking, squats, abs, etc. basically nothing upper body. I’ll be sure to build some muscle once I get over this damn injury, cus I’m lowkey skinny fat now

I am 5.3 at 48 kilos and have a pot belly . I look 5 months pregnant n so weak bodywise. I m planning to start strength training to see the changes.

Do you know why some people are skinny fat? It’s because they try to put on muscle by combining strength training and a small caloric surplus and all the surplus just winds up on their gut. TL;DR - IT’S NOT THAT SIMPLE!!!!

I think you’re right, I’ve noticed just the maybe 10 pounds of muscle I’ve gained recently, my stomach fat has gone down quit a bit. And I haven’t been doing a lot of stomach workouts just been lifting heavy. The hardest thing for me is giving up coke a cola. Don’t know if I ever can,
So I may never have washboard abs, but bigger arms and nice pecs and as long as I don’t have a beer belly. I’m 👍

Will a bulk help lose belly fat? I’ve been cutting a while, and have lost fat everywhere for about 2 and a half months, but the love handles still linger. Will bulking help lose any additional fat?

Dude… 16% body fat is not “skinny fat.” That’s pretty lean. This is idiotic advice to a non-existent person. Someone who is “skinny fat” is going to be north of 25% body fat. No muscles and lots of fat is nowhere NEAR 16%.

I was 140lbs 5ft8in and was skinny fat. I ate caloric deficit at 1600-1800 calories, 120-140g of protein, and lifted 4-5 times a week. I got rid of the belly in about 6 months. Now I am "skinny jacked"
