I'm a European. I spent almost ½ my life in one stable democracy and now over a ½ in another. My educational years encouraged me to use my critical faculties. This seems to be missing in many, too many, Americans. They seem to believe anything or seem to be easily persuaded by anybody. Good for advertisers and con artists, I suppose, but not so good for running the country.
