First Run of my New Highbanker! Day One of a Five Day River Trip...

Chris and I found gold each day of this trip and I can't wait to show you all the final cleanout!

To those wondering when the highbanker will be ready for sale, It won't be ready 100% until the end of this season as I will be testing a few things along the way as I work towards the best final product I can come up with.

I like your source of material you are running into your highbanker. Lots of organics with roots shows many low and high water runs over that area. Areas with roots/gravel usually (but not always) are rich with flour gold. A well tuned piece of equipment you are running. Must be tuned in the key of "G."🎼

This is an ingenious build Kyle. The reverse water flow in the extra-long hopper, ever-steepening and auto-clearing grizzly, and pretty much perfect water flow on your 2 level box. One of the better DIY builds I have ever seen for sure. Looks like it's working well. That is as close to perfect water flow for flour gold as I have ever seen, and nearly zero bubbles!

Very nice system. Are the cobbles and gravel sliding down off the hopper getting clean enough? That sluice is running smooth as butter. Excellent construction.! Keep them coming

Nice video but I disagree with the design of the highbanker. I would definitely not run a mat and expanded in the top section as it makes it not clean out and you really don't need it as you catch everything in the lower sluice. And I would not use a square mesh, instead use a proper grizzly bar with about 1cm between the bars.

Good vid. If you are catching 95+%you are doing well. Having 2 guys shoveling into the sluice makes this a go to sluice, because it will easily handle whatever one man can shovel. There is no doubt in my mind your double decker could handle chunkier gold that would come through the screen via the size of the expanded being used. The cross hatching of the screen helps with stopping the heavies going over it in the water . A way to see if you are loosing gold in the over flow of water over the screen is pan your over sized gravel collected in the buck that collects that over flow water as well . screen and wash that gravel again pan and see . The screen seems to be working well and gravel does not seem to hang up like on regular bar grizzlies . You got my attention on your build . Looking like a winner so far

You have a single T-Piece emitting water.
I would consider having 2 of them side by side.
Just to build a wall of opposing water to keep the initial dump in the hopper for a little longer.
