Hey everyone, hope you had a decent week! In today's video, I take some time to explore another beat I've been working on, focusing on my sequencing workflow along with some tried and true mixing techniques on the Elektron Digitakt and Digitone. Y'all seem to enjoy these types of videos, and I certainly enjoy making them!

I also have fully integrated the Arturia Keystep into my setup. I might make a quick tutorial video on fully syncing all of that up if you're interested in something more focused on that, but I review it briefly here too. Giving the Digitone a set of keys definitely makes it feel much more like a synth/sequencer, rather than just a sequencer!

Great combo. I would get these if I did not have Elektron gear already that do these things. Love the Elektron Rytm as well such a great drum synth and sound design tool. I also like the Elektron Analog heat such an amazing FX tool.

Nice work and thanks for the explanation of your process. Is there a pattern/global tempo settings option like on the DT? Maybe that's your weird tempo gremlin? I'm baffled by the 'not whole numbers' tempo on DT after tap tempo. Any tips on zeroing that out? My workaround is to tap tempo until I magically hit a round number then adjust to actual.

Is it possible to get kind of the same result with an OP -1 instead of the Digitone?

Can you explain why you have the Dual Mono on in the external mixer, panned left and right, instead of as a single stereo input? What are the benefits?

Your midi setup notably losses aftertouch information as the digitakt doesn't forward that through it's midi out, only thru.
