The Empty City

In a break from my traditional Stories of Atlanta style videos, I'm posting this video in recognition of the 5th Anniversary of the 2020 Covid shutdown. I spent the first few months of the shutdown driving around the metro Atlanta area taking pictures of what I saw. Have a look, you'll probably remember some of these scenes.

I used to shrug off any “trauma” caused by the shutting down of society. It felt weak to admit that any of this was traumatizing. Those who lost loved ones…that was trauma. But now that we’re 5 years past it all I feel comfortable saying “yes, this was traumatizing”. Maybe not in the way that we typically associate trauma but trauma nonetheless.
