Would like to see a vid on different grip styles. I’ve hovered around high single figures for years now and it’s my putting holding me back, my best rounds are always when I have a good putting day! I’ve used the reverse overlap for as long as I can remember but would be open to changing with some insight into what other grips offer 👍

Now that’s a super affirming video! Thanks Coach! I love having a standard grip with some shaft lean into my lead forearm so I get that exact feeling. I definitely feel face control and the distance control… when it’s on reasonable greens! LOL. Great drill!

Great stuff, may need to upgrade my hack motion subscription for putting too!

Any chance of a video on putting grips pros and cons of each style? Or something like that...

Great video Coach....I am pretty good keeping the wrist movement at a minimum but the long putts cause me to use a lot of wrist movement. I will try the ball drill to see if it will help me control that. Thanks Coach

This is a great tip. I struggle with opening the face on short putts. I recently invested in shot scope and gain strokes on driving and irons, about even on chipping, but lose multiple strokes putting. My distance control is very good, my face control is terrible. This is something I will try straight away. Thanks Coach.

I’m lucky enough to have a Hack Motion …I have found that the momentum of the club is what changes the flexion and extension in the wrist …if I take slower but longer swings it remains more stable .

Excellent tips coach, and similar to something else I saw where the tip was to keep the butt end of the grip pointing at your sternum throughout the stroke, in effect the same as keeping the ball trapped.

Great video Coach..I been trying very hard with that same grip you have ..it like two thumbs together with a straight arm.. wondering what grip you have on the putter?..thanks Coach for all the help..really enjoy your channel!!

Interesting
Always found holding putter head from releasing causes blocks to the right. If allowing putter head to feel free to release on line, Better results. I have a straight back and through stroke.

Right, I don’t say this lightly BUT this video was a real light bulb moment for me!! This weekend was our club championship and on Saturday I had EIGHT 3 putts with 22 putts in the front 9!! 🙄 Pulled it back a little with only three 3 putts on the back 9, but more importantly only 15 putts in total.

Anyway, Saturday night I was looking for some inspiration and came across this video and the bit that resonated with me was right at the start about locking the wrists so they don’t move! My problem Saturday was the wrists getting too involved which lead to so many putts being pushed! 🙄

Today was much better! Three 3 putts with two of them right at the start while I struggled with the change! But f89k me, what a difference locking the wrists made today! Also meant I could enjoy todays round a heck of a lot more without all the three putts of yesterday!!

So thanks Coach Lockey (and Mark Crossfield as I discovered you via his videos 😂)!!

Fingers down the shaft create tension in the grip, I amazed you use that grip, i suspect your miss is left. Big no no in my book, balance of the lesson is good. You ask if we practice putting, I have always practiced, but am a great advocate of putting games, compete against yourself or pals, no matter what age, you don’t need to be a poor putter, yet everyone practice driving for 14 shots a round?
