My mind is blown. Some of these things I’ve known or had intuitions on, but there are things now I’m pondering like the possibility of colour cone spacial arrangement on the retina (how does an image hitting across separate cones (pixels?) that are laid out as cells in not-a-perfect-square-grid arrangement, get finally interpreted as a single complete jigsaw puzzle in our visual system? And such. The impossible colours and such, I’ll be thinking about for a while. Marvellous. Merry Christmas 🎄

what would it take to extend our vision to infrared, which some animals can see?

I have to recommend Ooqui if you want to go deeper into the colours, Ooqui makes videos on how trichromats are actually hexachromats and how a trichromat can become a non retinal true red tetrachromat.

Hyper is short for hyperbolic, i managed to get hyper. green with the hyper. Orange method by looking at the oppisitte color and then looking at that color, it was greener than any green i saw!

Cool! What is the definition of ultraviolet compared to something like ultragreen? Violet isn’t one of the cones, so I’d assume it means both red and blue are fully activated with no green, but can we perceive it like we can with the other ones like stygian blue and self-luminous red?

How color blindness would fit in this? I have mild red-green color blindness so i often wonder how it happens at receptor level.
