Narcissists have a negative energy and they are attracted to an empathic person who has a positive energy, they know they can extract a lot of good things from them. Narcissists are also drawn to people who may be at a vulnerable time of their life, their lack of self-love and self-trust can be detected easily by a cagey narcissist. There may be some type of loss that the vulnerable person is trying to cope with and a narcissist will take full advantage of that. Some narcissists like people who are in a top position or higher up the ladder in their workplace as they admire power and control.
