US President-Elect Donald Trump to Meet Joe Biden in White House to Begin Power Transfer Process

US President Joe Biden will host President-elect Donald Trump for a post-election meeting at the White House on November 13. Such a meeting is customary between the outgoing president and the incoming president and is intended, in part, to mark the start of a peaceful transfer of presidential power. Biden also congratulated Trump after he won the U.S. election with a significant margin, defeating Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. Biden has invited Trump to meet him in the Oval Office. However, after losing the 2020 US election to Joe Biden, Trump did not invite the then president-elect Biden for any meeting after losing election to him. Additionally, Trump's wife, Melania, has reportedly refused to attend the traditional White House meeting with outgoing First Lady Jill Biden. Meanwhile, Trump is set to take the oath of office as the 47th president of the US on January 20, 2025. Also, the judge in Donald Trump's hush money case has delayed a decision on whether his conviction should be cancelled due to special protections for him as president-elect, until November 19.
