Single Engine Boeing vs. Airbus

Показать описание
Single engine operations are considerably different on the B737 and A320 in terms of workload.

The B737 does NOT have auto throttle capability single engine, nor can the autopilot trim the rudder. On the contrary the A320 has both autothrust and rudder trimming authority by the autopilot.

This leads to considerably less workload on the A320 (single engine) than the B737. Listen in for more details!

To add the list for the 737:

Once you have trimmed the rudder, when you come in to land, you cut the power and the rudder trim will still be there. With the power idle and the rudder trimmed to the dead engine, you may now need to use opposite rudder to land (or re-centre the rudder trim control just before touchdown) as the trimmed rudder may cause you to yaw.

Never flown the 320 single engine in the sim so not sure if it is similar in this scenario.

that's why I gave up the 737 in FS2020. Too much work. Not that I didn't like but tere is too much workload. I'm not a pilot anyway.

If AP is allowed to be used in the training that’s true, if it’s not allowed… I found 737’s rudder is easier to trim and thrust also 🥲
