I follow all the steps ...Tried to start recording with ardour...but when I run it means after naming new session and then clicking on OK button then its giving two types of erro with different configuration.
1: error when I select JACK mode" Cannot create session in \home\ardour\demo"
2: error when I select ALSA mode" Unable to open audio device"

Hi Joe, Thanks for all your videos, very helpful. In this one, when you crop the guitar track, how is it that rhythmically it lines up correctly with the drum track? Does it do that automatically, did you luck out, or is there a setting that needs to be observed? Txs

Hi! Thanks for good videos. I'm newbie to Midi and Ardour. My goal is to train my music AI algorithm with Midi files and let it assist me to compose or even let it compose by itself. Could you please introduce some good open sources to existing instruments that can be easily used with Ardour? (Ex. Drum loop that you used) Currently I don't have any physical musical instruments.

Thank you! I'm a guitarist and also learning audio production, and the array of interfaces, plug-ins and DAWs that are available on Windows are the last thing that's keeping me from switching to Linux. This will probably help me immensely when I make the switch. Any recommendation of an affordable (less than €500) interface that will work on Linux natively? I had my eyes on a 3rd generation Focusrite, but I was wondering if there were any preferable alternatives for Linux.

Thanks for this tutorial. I have worked with nuendo for years and Iḿ trying to swich to ardour. The problem is that I can not use my old vst within ardour (gitar rig; kontakt, z3ta from cakewalk). How can I fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

ich bekomme einen midi- Einstellungen Dialog wenn ich ein Projekt erstellen möchte. wenn ich dort Jack auswählen möchte, sagt es mir, dass es das Projekt nicht anlegen konnte. wenn ich Jack per jackctl schon vorher starte kommt, dass es irgendein Problem mit der Midi engine oder so gab. ich versuche schon seit Stunden, das ganze zum Laufen zu bringen!

I find I have to start Jack from within Ardour otherwise it doesn't pick up the connections

Hey you a clear sound in your screen casts. Bear in mind I'm watching this video on your channel for the first time. I want to ask you what kind of setup do I need for good quality podcasting and screencastnig on ubuntu? I know the software side, but I don't what kind of mic I need. My guess is like audio technica and an external audio card. Which external audio card can you suggest? I have a usb headset but it records a noise.

Does Ardour have any synths? I have a MIDI keyboard which I wanna use but I don't know how to actually make it create sound.

Any possibility to quantize all that? Because quantize the MIDI is no brainer. But how about audio? Can it do like Apple Logic, for example?

Habe versucht Deinen Instruktionen zu folgen, funktioniert aber nur bedingt. Jack war bei mir anders eingestellt als Deine ersichtlichen Vorgaben aussahen, habe diese adjusted, dann funktionierte gar nichts, kam nicht mal ins Program. Woher kommt das Drum Program? Bei mir ist keins. Brauche ich ein Interface und wo klinke ich die Instrumente ein. Habe bei Cubase immer ein Alpha Lexicon Interface benutzt. Bin ein technischer Idiot und deshalb meine fuer Dich vermutlich dummen Fragen. Vielleicht kannst Du mir ja mal kurz auf meine Fragen antworten. Danke im Voraus aus Neuseeland
