I think removing the unnecessary advertising at the beginning just incase of emergency situation would be a good idea but thank you for the vid very useful.

As soon as o had my baby girl 19 years ago, I begged health visitor to put me on baby cpr course, they did, never had to use it, thankfully 🙏🏻but I think it should be part pre natal class.

Also make sure baby is on the floor NOT the bed. I watched this heartbreaking video of a mom describing her experience after her daughter died of SIDS. After doing CPR on the baby on the bed, she called 911 and the operator told her to move her baby to the floor since it's not effective on the bed.

I don’t have a baby but this is one of my worst fears.

If your in America its 911 if your watching this video from US. Don't dial the other numbers if you live in America. Great video!

As a nurse, I feel I can cope with many if not all emergencies. But I have watched this vid, and those relating to older children, several times. I am particularly reminded of the small child being resuscitated in an Australian supermarket (see YouTube). I would like to think that in a similar circumstance I might be able to perform correctly, hopefully with a successful outcome.

Youtube is so greedy that there are ads on first aid videos. How can you let us waste precious seconds trying to skip ads when lives are in danger

you are supposed to give initial rescue breaths covering both nose and mouth with your mouth. if you cant, pinch nose before blowing into mouth so that air dnt escape from nose

Make a seal around mouth and nose? I only saw a seal around the mouth in that demonstration.

Is the criteria for neonate is change. Mostly we do 30 compression first and then 2 breath.

I’m confused, I know this video is old but isn’t the ratio 15:2 and not 30:2 in terms of compressions and ventilations?

You need to check the pause first if there is no pause we do the cpr of patient just not breathing, ( but heart still beating then you breath for them)

Place on firm surface. Open their airway.

With one hand on forehead, gently tilt head back with finger tip gently lift chin to open airway.

Make sure mouth is clear.

Blow gently & steadily for 1 second. Remove mouth & watch chest fall.

Do this 5 times.

Pump. Put 2 fingers in centre of babies chest & push down a third of the depth of the chest, release the pressure allowing chest to come back up before pressing back down again.

Repeat this 30 times at a rate of 100 to 120 pumps per minute.

After 30 chest pumps open airway & give a further 2 puffs.

Continue to alternate between 30 chest pumps, & 2 puffs.

Stop after 1 minute & call 000.

Continue with 30 pumps, 2 puffs.
