When I was able to drive we had a gas and a brake handle installed on the steering post and it was so simple and easy to learn.

I’m not disabled, but would strongly advise getting a reversing camera on any vehicle! Makes life so much easier

Hi seb I drive a classic American automatic car, the gear shift is on the steering column and the handbrake is on a pedal on the left, headlights are on a knob. I'm going to have the accelerator pedal switched to the left. My MS effects my right side apart from the gearshift all controls are on the left, plus a reverse alarm as the car is massive 😂

I use hand controls myself Seb, I can still walk with a walker or rollator but the foot drop on my right foot is pretty testy when it comes to going from the gas to the brake pedal so I knew I had to do something to continue driving safely

I'm on a 3 year medical licence review now after 36 years having passed my driving test in 1987 ... I've got an all electric EC4 citroen under the mobility scheme and mobility scheme installed my home charging point aswell as I get enhanced disability pip.

I've got disabled badges which with helps parking.

i dont like driving nowadays however my wife drives it mainly.

What happened to me was, I was about to go in my car, suddenly I’ve felt this weird nausea (it feels like it lasted 2sec) and paf, feeling my left side of the body was gone. Of course, heart was pumping, didn’t know what was going on, never had it before..so I was holding myself on the car door until I was able to go in and sit in. Then I started crying, mostly cuz of fear, something new and scary happened that reminded me of MS and that everything was possible. Later my dr told me basically that this is part of my journey and can happen anytime. I’m driving an automatic which is for me easier since day one but still, it’s hard not to ask myself what could have happened if would’ve been on the highway or simply in driving..it wasn’t a relapse..which is more scary fact that can happen anytime, simply cuz of the position of my sclerosis 😮

I havent driven in around 3 months due to me turning 26 and needing a new license. i dont feel comfortable enough to drive mainly due to my eys being the issue with severe light sensitivity, Ive been thinking about maybe getting my windows tinted when i get my license renewed but need to figure out state regulations and such. I cant imagine needing other meterial for steering etc. But i feel for those who need it and wish everyone the best of days ahead.

Wheelchair user here, I drive an automatic electric car charge at home saves going to gas station with hand controls with an indicator switch on top of it plus a steering ball on steering wheel makes it very handy for corners, roundabouts reversing ect I just lift folded chair across me to passenger seat, dash cam camera too is a good thing too have in case someone tries to put blame on you in an accident car has a reverse cam too but I don't need it

Led light near floor board so I can see the pedals at night just to be extra safe.

Hi Sebastian, i stil drive a manual. My next car wil be an automatic tho. I don't like driving at night anymore because i got really light sensitive after a relapse in 2019. I have yellow driving glasses that help. Weird detail, after a relapse in 2021 my light sensitivity dramaticly improved. Weird disease isn't it?
