Can't you use a hand plane and smooth your corner or draw knife to trim the corner

I use steel frame rests to make repairs on gouged wood on the top edges.
Usually it only takes a few inches so one piece can make a lot of repairs and straightens the edge back.

I wanna come....my 11yr old is the one who is in love with the honey bees. And this spring we got two hives! She can even tell the breed by the color of the honey bees!

Unfortunately or fortunately lol, I will be selling honey at a farmers market! Maybe next year when they invite everyone I can make it, sure would be fun. Great content David!

David, some of my new hive bodies from a national supplier had large gaps from poor fitment. I nearly lost a single deep from poor fitment and I cut strips of cardboard to fill the gaps (wrapping the strips with painters tape made them durable), the hive survived after closing off all the unnecessary ventilation. Because of the fitment issues with woodenware, I'm looking at insulated hive bodies and the Apimaye type (knockoff) has done really well this summer, not really fond of the overlapping hive-bodies similar to a telescoping cover.

David, have you ever experimented with getting winter brood born in early fall building out comb?

When your introducing the bee package to the hive, would it be beneficial to install a queen excluder on the base, under the brood box? That way there’s no way for the queen to leave the hive. Then in 10 days +-, you can take it out. That way you won’t loose the swarm. Thanks for your knowledge

You removed a super and put it on the cart. How did you get those bees that were in that super back into the hive before closing it up?

Great video been watching you since my wife and i started bee keeping. You definitely gave some prime advice to keep us bee keeping and not bee having. If you can't find someone to give out that golden ticket I'll take one right here 😅

Hi Dave, I am a first year bee keeper thanks for all of the great information, you talk about robber bees, how do you tell the difference between robber bees and your hive bees

I had 2 hives last year and new to bee keeping. Well a little history only there on weekends (sometimes) and know nothing about bee keeping and used your site to educate me. hives are in northern Wisconsin, I live in Illinois and of course lots of snow around at least 3 to 4 feet high there. Needless to say all dead I brushed out the dead bees in the hives in the spring (didn’t remove honey) and moved the bee free hives to a run down shelter and now the bees are back. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN original Bees came from California (lucky me)
