I have a valid theory for why none have them have actually gone for the kill on eachother and stayed away. In my opinion they're both just fighting, not fighting to kill. They're stalling eachother. If Hakari were to lose, Uraume would go back to Sukuna and be a major threat for what's left of Jujutsu High. If Uraume loses, Hakari goes back and becomes a major threat to Sukuna as he's one of the stronger few sorcerers that Jujutsu High has left. So Uraume is fighting defensively, and Hakari is fighting defensively - none are fighting for the kill because if they pull a risky move, that could lead to their own death and then it's game over for either of their sides.

On the note of Hakari getting a jackpot, it's likely Uraume would swap from fighting defensively to running while throwing meaningless attacks to keep Hakari's attention so he doesn't just run off to fight Sukuna
