He didn't day trade the money away. He straight up stole it.

When I started my LLC I made one rule. Never get into business with friends and family. That also includes borrowing money.

She's actually lucky to be alive. Lots of real crime stories started like that but then the friend makes her disappear to not have to come clean and take responsibilities.

She didn’t say who the “friend” is. Ladies this age are prime targets for romance scammers.

Lady lost $600k and still doing better than 90% of millennials.

If I'm going to lose mega bucks in the market I'm sure as hell going to do it all by myself rather than have some 'friend' help me.

I don't understand why she felt the need to get help from the friend. She was doing just fine, essentially an everyday millionaire.

3:20 “He had hard copy checks, he took it out of my mailbox!” Hopefully someone tells her to file an affidavit of forgery. She can get every dollar back that he took through this specific fraud. She didn’t give him permission or access to the retirement account so she can absolutely get that money refunded by the financial institution regardless of the money being lost by her disgusting friend. Only the money that she gave him access to is lost forever. Once she files a police report, the bank will give her the money very quickly. I’ve had my checking accounts hacked by strangers in this same way and even though it was a hassle, I didn’t lose a penny. Good luck!!!

You couldn’t get me to give my friends $600, let alone $600, 000.

Guarantee he stole it, and simply used gambling/trading as a false excuse

Jade killed that call looking at the numbers. “ emotions are high right now but not ours and the numbers are doable” sensible response

There goes that friendship.
Unfortunately, it was a "predatory opportunity", not a friendship

Opinions on the market diverge; some claim overvaluation due to rapid gains, while others cite strong economic fundamentals justifying high valuations. The notable surge in tech stocks, a significant part of the S&P 500, raises concern for my $600K portfolio given the index's increased tech concentration.

Talk to a lawyer. And sue them.
Why give them access to an account?

What’s sad is the fear we all live in because one day everything you worked your entire life for can be taken from you by thieves, lawyers, politicians, government, etc. so sad we have to live so defensive

I love my friends. If they needed a place to stay for the night, I'd give them my guest room. If their kids were hungry, I'd stop over there with some groceries. If their car broke down and they needed a ride to work I'd play the role of Uber for a few days while they get repairs done. There is NO scenario where I would give friends OR family $600, 000.

This is why you shouldn't envy people with more money. On the surface of things, they might appear to have more means than you, but they are also more vulnerable to being scammed like this. Shocking situation. Hope that "friend" has his income reduced to zero when he's locked up.

She needs to press charges, and if he is working for any kind of firm, she needs to sue them as well.

Jeanie, I'm so sorry. I'll be praying for you.
