I Went Fishing and Picked a Lot of Berries

The first half of summer is gone and I might feel sad about it. But what makes it bearable is all the fun ahead when you savour the fruits of your labour.
This year is particularly bountiful for berries. I dedicated several days to collect them, process and prepare jam. It is quite tiring but I miss this a lot especially after long winter and late spring.

I am not an avid onion gardener. The larger onions are said to be more susceptible to fungus under storage. Certainly if the onions has been subject to drought when in growth. Sometimes I get the idea that the same applies to garlic. Maybe some of the other viewers has an idea.

Read about walnut grafting once. The grafting point have to be kept at 26 degrees for some weeks. This can be done by a hose from an aquariaum circulating warm water through an insulation material, say a PU cup for piping, and the trees are put through slits in the material. I left the idea of walnut grafting as fast as it was conceived. Good luck. I hope you can come up with an easier method.

If you can graft you have the energy of life in you. I have not been successful in grafting yet.

Katsiaryna Terehova you have such a good harvest, you must be thankful for it and appreciative of those berries. Do you talk to them? Do you praise them? "You are such a good bush, yes you are, so much better than the bushes down the lane, you are sooo tasty, yes you are!" we talk to animals like this, mostly puppies. I think they would appreciate it.

Water control is key. I did work experience with the DPI here. (Department of Primary industries) A lot of it was surveying and contour banking. Contour banking has not taken off but it makes sense. Control the water. Make it stay long enough to like the place. Our farmers still spend too much on pumping water.

My wife and I just got back from fishing this evening. It is the first time this year we didn't catch anything. Still I loved watching the wild ducks flying over the lake. Your world is a lot like ours( my wife and I) here in Iowa. We dug our potatoes today, earlier this week we dug onions and hung them to dry. We are being over whelmed by the numbers of cucumbers we are harvesting. I can't wait for our cabbages to get ready either, it is a tough year for them fighting the bugs. Absolutely enjoyed this video, Thanks.
