Chrissy Teigen and John Legend know how to make an entrance — even when its unexpected. And on Tuesday the Cravings founder and Legend crashed her mom Vilailuck 'Pepper' Teigen's virtual cooking segment on TODAY. Wearing nothing but a towel the playful TV personality popped in frame to say a quick hello as her mom cooked, later returning to fluff Pepper's hair a little bit.  Pepper appeared on the morning show to promote her new cookbook — The Pepper Thai Cookbook — by demonstrating how to make stir-fried spaghetti with Thai chili paste. Everything seemed to be going as planned until the very excited couple crashed the segment. 'We're so excited for mom...I just wanted to say hi to everybody,' the cooking enthusiast shared.   'John is dressed, Chrissy is not,' Savannah Guthrie remarked. And later Al Roker joked: 'I wish John was wearing a towel,' which incited laughter from additional hosts Carson Daly and Sheinelle Jones.  Pepper was a good sport throughout the whole process and continued to carry on with her recipe before Chrissy made yet another appearance — this time stepping into the role of stage mom. Watching from behind the lens, she seemed to notice that her mom's hair needed a little maintenance. She quickly stepped in to double as her glam squad which caused Pepper to laugh and remark 'We had to do our own hair today.'Roker asked: 'Does she always do that when you're cooking?' to which Pepper replied: 'She loves teasing and playing around with me.' And throughout the course of the interview she revealed that she got her nickname when she and Ron Teigen (Chrissy's dad) ran a local tavern in Washington. 'I always make my own food, so spicy, so hot. My Thai name is kind of hard to pronounce so they gave me [the name] Pepper.' Additionally she added that the Chrissy's Court host inspired her to make a cookbook after finding success with her own Cravings series. 'I learned a lot from her, not from cooking, but how to do the cookbook because I had no idea of anything about it.'  Both Legend and Teigen congratulated Pepper on her accomplishment with tribute posts and they lined their vacation rental with photos of her throughout the years and a 'congratulations banner.' 'Happy cookbook birthday @pepperthai2!!! I am so proud of you!!!! And jealous - seriously this book is so f***ing good. your mommy and daddy are looking down with love and pride,' wrote Chrissy. And the book is dedicated to both her late parents and the pair's son Jack who they tragically lost at 20 weeks in late September due to partial placental abruption. Pepper told WSJ Magazine: 'We talk about him every day. Luna talks about him every day, and that's how we grieve. We're getting better each day... We're getting so much better and Chrissy too.'
