We have a thrower in college track& field. BIG dude. He threw. That's all he did.
One day for fun he asked if he could run with the sprinters during warm ups. HE WAS FAST AS HELL!
The next day the coach said, we're doing this for real. He lined up his A-team sprinters and this big man took second!
No one knew what to do with this information lol
A LOT of analytics was done that night to determine of he was more valuable getting us points by sprinting or points by by throwing lol
The contests tended to run simultaneously so he couldn't do both.

I grew up in Gwinnett county, I moved 2000 miles away in high school. It’s really cool to see it mentioned. It gets mentioned pretty often tbh.

it’s set up for him to win:
-fridge gets head start. barely jogs (save energy while still inching closer to finish line)
-other guy takes off full speed draining stamina to catch up to fridge
-once other guy passes fridge he is at least kind of fatigued and slows down.
-fridge (has full energy) can now take off and finish the race.
