I'm so waiting for this channel to blow up - such great content!

I liked this bc you can still see that it's paneling. I want to do the same to my horrible 70s paneling. All the other vids I've seen are going through a whole lot to make it smooth as drywall.

Alex is literally the most beautiful woman I have ever seen! So full of life and positive energy! Keep up the good work! 👍

I'm getting ready to do a dining room. My mom doesn't think it will work because the panels have a shiny look to them but I think I can sand the walls and clean them with a deglosser before priming.

Great video. However, if you use a quality oil based primer, you can usually get away with only 1 coat of primer. The paint will cover everything nicely. Typically in 1 coat!

I just found you and I L-O-V-E you!! Just purchased a 1928 pink cottage covered in stinky carpet and faux wood paneling!!

Easy with the Camera, Charlie. I got seasick.

I REMEMBER the endless wood paneling everywhere in the 1970s. Never liked it. Everything looked exactly as you said, Alex. Dark and dreary.

Curious that for that one small wall you didn’t fill in the cracks (especially that horizontal one) to make it smooth

I feel like I’m back in my basement playing Atari. The wood on my console tv matched the wood paneling perfectly.

So I had already painted my living room which is covered in paneling. But now I want to cover the grooves of the paneling to make it look more like sheet rock. What do I do? Thanks

I have veneer wood paneling that has a ton of ugly blue paint on it already. Can I just put primer over it andd paint it?

You can also wallpaper it and when you do you do not see the grooves once the wallpaper dries so you would think it was sheet rock underneath

OK, I asked google how to paint the 1970s paneling in our American Legion post in Colorado. I was surprised when this video came up. II had to double check to see if you were my favorite person from back east. I grew up in KS/NE, Wisconsin is not the midwest. ;-)

Do I still need to prime if I am using the paint and primer in one ? Trying to go the easiest route lol

Is it possible to use a paint+primer paint and avoid the primer step?

Great job. Did you use a semi-gloss paint?

We're fixing up a 1950s elevated home in south Louisiana and it's wall to wall wood paneling 😅

It still looks like paneling because the grooves are visible. I’m doing paneling now, but am filling and smoothing first.
