Rule number one: When you find a frozen monster, always thaw him out while everyone is somewhere else." Rule 2: "If you do post a guard, he has to wear a walkman and be totally involved listening to music when the monster gets him." Rule 3: "When you discover the monster is loose, split up to go after him. That always works"

I have noticed something about movies like this:

How famous an actor is defines how long they are gonna survive during the movie

I don't think this movie is as terrible as everybody says it is. But it was a movie that really wasn't needed because we know what happens to the Norwegians because we're told that in John Carpenter's The Thing. But it's a good watch if you want to see how certain props from John Carpenter's movies got in the locations they got in.

This movie and the original are my two favorite action horror films. Something about the monster designs leave me feeling absolutely disturbed and creeped out.

Actually liked this movie. I mean the original is fantastic but I thought this was a good attempt at a prequel. The premise is always fun.

That 'How do you like it??' joke at the beginning is the best part of this movie, sticks with Me to this day! 😆

The person who plays as Adam also plays as Deeks in NCIS: LA and that made me want to watch this

Everytime I get Edvard-Thing out of my nightmares, somehow it comes back to haunt me. 😭 That scene where Edvard-Thing's hand jizzes into that man's throat for eternity while the rest of it morphs into split-face will NEVER not scar me

If we could watch this from the creature's point of view we would see it just wanted to get back to its family. It had no idea it had been here for 100k years. It just knew it was frozen and some wired beings were trying to kill it.

What happened to Kate? Also why didn't the thing attack her on the way to the UFO?

Now do a recap of The Thing 1982. That is really good.

Somehow, I had forgotten about the spaceship.
Edit: oh right, the pixel blob. Horrifying, Must have blocked it out from my memory

you know, considering the first movie there was no need for the creature to fully bust out from the block of ice. A few cells thawing out and 'catching a ride' on some organic matter might have been enough for the mayhem to start.

Its an old video, but in case someone hasn't seen this masterpiece and is fan of the original movie, check out 'John Carpenter's THE THING: THE MUSICAL' here on Youtube. Its a recap from the alien's perspective while he imitates Frank Sinatra almost to a tee =D

I wish you would say the name of the movie, it looks really interesting

Ok let's be honest the thing is fucking cool. Movies make me dislike scientists like in most movies did no one tell them curiousity killed the cat, they either create the problem or catapult an issue

1.The creature looks like a imposter from among us 2. The features on it like the tounge are a kill animation just like the creature killed a person

you know they actually had practical monsters. but the studio said that it would look "dated", so we got this horrible cg instead. i wish they went with practical, its always better.
