The Origins version is trying to be cheerful and happy as the prototype version, but is way too depressed to be able to do it.

When i listen to the “remastered” tracks. It sounds more like they were doing a remix of the Pc Version instead of the more energetic Proto type versions.
The prototype has that punchy effect like the other genesis songs while this… well this is just sad

Sega not being able to use the tracks made by Michael Jackson and his crew is sad, but understandable, using them may be too expensive, and copyright is a mess that you often can't clear by just throwing money at it.

But Sega making bad remixes of the tracks they can use, when they sounded better in the prototype, the prototype that has the tracks they were going to use if Michael Jackson never came to help, this has no excuse, it's all Sega's fault.

Hopefully they'll fix it. I mean they did add Mighty and Ray to Mania the next year so maybe they'll patch the songs. What I think happened is that they accidentally based theses songs off of an even earlier prototype version where the songs weren't nearly completed since the S3&K super theme is reportedly butchered as well. As long as we constantly complain about it on twitter, then I'm sure they'll fix it.

I heard it just now. How on earth did that happen?! It had to be some kind of oversight in their DAW/project files when they were remixing it.
Sega *_literally never_* gets the music wrong. Of all the bad Sonic games that come out, the ONE THING they always manage to get right is the music! But not this o.o

Fun fact: ice cap zone act 1's music is removed from sonic origins, it just uses act 2's music

Honestly if they just ported over the original tracks, I would have been fine with that, they sound good, I'm just disappointed with this remaster as a whole, when you do this, you compete with emulation and in Sega's case, fan creations. If Sonic A.I.R and Sonic 1 revisited offers you more for less than this, your not worth full price.
