If the Nat Turner rebellion was faked, the purpose might have been to 'short-circuit' other potential insurrections that were feared to occur. So that word could spread that the rebellion failed, and others would be discouraged from attempting it.

So in that Nat Turner movie called "The Birth of a Nation"? When the actor said "on to Jerusalem"...he was talking about Jerusalem, Virginia. Wow, amazing how they manipulated people into thinking he meant Jerusalem, Israel. Which didn't make any sense because Jerusalem Didn't become capital if Israel until 1980.
