I would like a part 2. I was born in 1980. Droids/Ewoks was my introduction to Star Wars. I live on the border of Canada and the Global network re-ran both of those cartoons until the early 90's...maybe longer. The Ewoks were Star Wars version of the Smurfs. Trust me, for a 5 year old in 1985, it was very cool. But I can understand how someone who was older in 1985 would've thought it was lame. I would've too, but I was caught in that era. The right age at the right time.

It would've been funny if they had made a "Hungry Hungry Ewoks" game but instead of marbles they had little Stormtroopers and Biker Scouts

That Junkman! You are only a couple of years older than I, and among adults that difference is barely noticeable, but among children the difference is huge! Back in the '80s, my brothers and I were the perfect age for Ewoks. Sometimes we played Star Wars, and sometimes we specifically played Ewoks, building forts and tree-houses, using Ewokese words and names that we had picked-up from the films and cartoons, and studying the magic of Logray - Medicine Man! We had Ewok figures from the films, and swapped their hoods around to make new characters, but found precious little from the TV series. We would have loved even more Ewok toys, to go along with our Ewok books and videotapes! Even now, the Ewoks remind me of the innocent days of youth. I'm sorry you're not so keen on them, Junkman ol' buddy! :)

The sad part is, along with many Star Wars characters, we never heard the name spoken in the movies.... Crazy, once you think about it.

Oddly enough, my dad was not a fan of Star Wars at all, which is why we weren't allowed to see the films in theaters, but he was a fan of the Ewoks. So, we sat down and watched The Ewok Adventure as a family and my dad said he was impressed by the Ewoks' bravery even though they were so small. We actually watched the Ewok movie before seeing ESB or ROTJ. We weren't allowed to watch Battle For Endor, though, becuase it had a witch in it.

Wicket on top of that phone looks really creepy and soulless... looking into those eyes looks like looking into the void...oh and the food gathering game was fun to play. I use to play this game with my parents.

Awww I love all things Ewok and Wicket. ROTJ was my first Star Wars movie in the theater so that probably explains a lot about my love for the furry warriors. Also my dog is named after Princess Kneesaa....

I always liked the Ewoks, Jedi being my favorite film. While they may get hate, I liked the primitive native aspect that they brought to the story. Star Wars had 3-PO & R2 for the light-hearted elements, Yoda had some funny moments in Empire, so I always thought they filled that slot for the movie.

George Lucas always said Star Wars was for children albeit the story line was dark in places. I think the ewoks were underestimated as my interpretation was the Emperor could never envisage they were a threat. This line does imply that merchandising of them was a long term strategy to make $$$$
