The only reason you may have issues getting OptiFine 1.21 in the installer is if Minecraft is open or the Minecraft Launcher is open. Either way, there may be issues getting OptiFine 1.21, and you may get an error message when installing it. Make sure MInecraft and the Minecraft Launcher are closed and that you have played Minecraft 1.21 before.

At this point, we can move on to playing Minecraft with OptiFine 1.21. After OptiFine in installed, open up the Minecraft Launcher. Then, in the Minecraft Launcher, click on “Installations” at the top. Make sure that the “modded” box is checked. You will now see an OptiFine 1.21 installation. Hover over this, and click the green “Play” button. Confirm you are playing Minecraft with the OptiFine mod by clicking “Play” again, and Minecraft 1.21 will now open up with OptiFine installed!

To access OptiFine’s features, go to “Options” and “Video Settings”. This is where you wil find all of the settings you can change in OptiFine including the “Shaders” button, which is where you can go to add shaders to Mineraft 1.21 with OptiFine.

hi, i'm having problems with optifine - the game loads fine but when i load into a world, after about 3 or 4 seconds, the screen goes to like, the sky texture, and everytime i pause it goes black. i loaded up minecraft without optifine, and it didn't do this. do you know how to fix this?
