In which I share a sort of advent devotional reflection on my updated version of an old Christmas hymn by Charles Wesley, popularized by Charles Spurgeon. You'll also hear - again, I know! still on my mind - some thoughts from a recent read about Heaven by Randy Alcorn and catch a glimpse into my antique hymnal collection. Oh yeah, and a quick peek at "Mrs. Simpson the Music Teacher".

Beautiful arrangement! I totally felt joy when you started with the first notes. It fit that expectant and joyful feeling. I love hymns as well…especially at Christmas. Tradition, I suppose, brings them forefront at Christmas. All those years in choir of preparing for programs. Good memories. I didn’t start practicing Advent until my late 30s and I’m glad I have this in my holiday now to keep Jesus at the center of it all. You’re amazing! Thanks for sharing your talent.
