Awesome Bill. Great to see another big name in the electrical world producing a lever connector.

I do like that the levers lift from the back. I’ve been using lever connectors for quite a while, and even though I’ve not had many issues with the levers on the Wago connectors it has kept me very vigilant and careful when pushing them to the back of the box.
Thanks Bill

I'm excited for the competition, as I hope it drives down pricing

Waiting for Ideal to manufacture the #10 gauge sizes. I prefer the Ideal's over Wago's due to the lever direction, which is a better connection and I don't feel the need to apply tape to prevent accidental opening. Thanks Bill.

Biggest advantage over Wago may be these might actually show up in a Lowes or Home Depot

sure something new and better, , , am currently fully wago stocked....

I’m stoked. I have OCCASIONALLY been using wagos for the last year or so when I’m roughing in something and it needs to be wired into a circuit that cannot be turned off for whatever reason.
I remember when I was an apprentice my journeyman basically just taught me the ol “just the two wires together then turn your wirenut over them real quick so they don’t lose contact” trick, which wasn’t always the best.
They also work great for those light fixtures that always come with dinky little 14-16awg stranded wire from the driver.

Personally I would prefer to use the Wagos as I have heard such great things about them. But all I can find in my local stores are the Ideal branded ones. But the higher current rating makes me feel better. I've been using them to replace all the wirenuts as I've been updating all the outlets and switches in the house. Aside from having to remove the wirenut then untwist the wires these are really fast to install! Makes it so much nicer!

Thank you for posting. I have used the Wago connectors for certain applications and have been very satisfied to date.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Much appreciated.

Good for connecting stranded for sure. Thanks.

I'm a bit concerned about what in the mechanism makes them push in capable. I've seen how the Wago mechanism works, and I know it is more positive than a regular "stab" connection. these could just be a stab with a release handle, or they could be a completely different mechanism.

Great video ... Thank You for the introduction ... I didn’t know Ideal was making this style.

These are great to be honest. Now its just getting people to adapt to them.

Wagos have been great but being able to use push in with solid wire is a plus. Larger range of gauge the Wago also.

Was not a fan at first glance (larger than WAGO). Then I actually used them and found them to be slightly superior to work with.

You can do the "shove solid core conductor in without opening the lever" also with the Wago 221. Since all these connectors work the same way.
CE is a standard marking on all products that are sold in the EU. It is actually not a proper certification. The manufacturer simply declares it meets the minimum safety requirements. ENEC is a conformity marking for electrical devices in the EU. The number 11 next to it states that this certification was done by the ÖVE (Austrian Association for electrical engineering), the Austrian testing organization for electrical safety and they also release the electrical codes for Austria. So the Austrian version of the VDE, which is German and would be number 10.

Thank, Bill! Nice video - I did not know Ideal had that product.

I want to see someone do current testing on these. And with dissimilar size wire 12/14 /16 stranded. They look cool but at what point do they melt to oblivion?

Good video Sparky. I think they look like a good alternative.
