The BBC has stated it will give people over the age of 75 more time to pay their licence fee as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

But Duncan Simpson from the Taxpayers' Alliance said: "The concern is the BBC isn't focusing on ruling out a lot of the elements of waste which are endemic in the organisation."

Nobody should pay a tv licence. The BBC is very overstaffed, supplying too many services and channels that are of little or no interest; and squander vast amounts of money on irrelevances. (Why should I contribute to an £85 million new Eastenders set?) Most people be would delighted to never see any of their top "stars" with their obscene pay packets, ever again. (Why is Gary Lineker still employed? Was he given a lifetime contract?) And don't even start me on the bloated management salaries. We are sick of seeing our money being sucked down a bottomless drain. BBC = no longer fit for purpose.
