Tom Six had a hard time casting an actress since most actresses walked out in disgust after he showed them a drawing of the human centipede. Once they realized what the role actually entailed, they left without auditioning. In fact, investors were only told that the international horror film would involve people being stitched together. The filmmakers believed that the manner in which they’d be stitched together would be too much for investors to be ok with. The concept of the film was based on a joke Tom told his friends about a potential way to punish a child molester.

When I first heard of “human centipede” I thought of Frankenstein’s monster. An amalgamation of various people’s body parts, albeit in a centipede-like shape.

For anyone wondering if they actually came to any harm or trauma the answer is no, they used special effects for the most part and would of probably took a lot of breaks between shooting they also wore shorts to avoid direct contact. The answer is in a Google search.
