Eν μέσω πληροφοριών ότι ίσως το Ισραήλ αλλά και άλλες δυτικές χώρες, όπως η Μεγάλη Βρετανία, προβούν σε αντίποινα για την επίθεση που δέχτηκε το Ισραηλινό πετρελαιοφόρο πλοίο, λίγο έξω από το Ομάν, όπου έχασαν τη ζωή τους, δύο ναυτικοί και ο ένας ήταν Βρετανός υπήκοος, το Ιράν απηύθυνε σήμερα, αυστηρή προειδοποίηση, λέγοντας ότι: "το Ιράν δεν θα διστάσει να προστατέψει την ασφάλεια του και τα εθνικά του συμφέροντα και έτσι θα απαντήσει άμεσα και αποφασιστικά σε οποιονδήποτε πιθανό τυχοδιωκτισμό."

Amid reports that Israel and other Western countries, such as Britain, may be retaliating for the attack on the Israeli oil tanker just outside Oman, in which two sailors were killed and one of them was a British national, Iran issued a stern warning today, saying: "Iran will not hesitate to protect its security and national interests, and will immediately and decisively respond to any possible adventurism."
