With only three barangays and a population of 38,143 left after the Supreme Court ruled that the EMBO barangays are part of Taguig, what’s next for Makati’s District 2? Under the law, a congressional district must have a minimum population of 250,000.

Makati 2nd District councilor Alden Almario, who is eyeing a congressional seat, says the district will remain for now. He adds that its fate depends on Congress, which has the authority "to abolish it or not."

The three barangays left in District 2 are Pinagkaisahan, Guadalupe Viejo, and Guadalupe Nuevo.

Almario seeks to replace Congressman Luis Campos who is vying to become mayor of Makati. #PHVote #AmbagNatin #BeTheChange
