Yom Kippur & Day of Atonement in Jerusalem 2023
After 9 days of searching our hearts, the Jewish people and Christians continue to repent and cry out to God on this last day of the 10 days of awe called Yom Kippur.

Yom Kippur means "Day of Atonement" and it is a day that the Bible commands us to deny ourselves and do no work.

As you watch this video, you will read the verses in Leviticus explaining more about this Day of Atonement.

The entire nation of Israel shuts down on this day, and literally no one is allowed to work, except the police and hospitals.

At the end of Yom Kippur there is a loud resounding trumpet blown in every synagogue throughout Israel to declare the end of this day.

Leviticus 25:9
"Then have the trumpet sounded everywhere on the 10th day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement sound the trumpet throughout your land."

We pray that on this Yom Kippur that you would be impacted by the grace and love of God in life changing ways!!

1 John 2:1-2
"My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father - Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only ours but also for the sins of the whole world."

Thank you Everyone, I am a Christian who has been celebrating this day for the last 12 year and I can't even remember how I found out about Today. I believe it was a book I stumbled and fell into reading.... Whenever I read God said to fast on this day.... It expired me to do so ever However, I am still learning more and more about this BEAUTIFUL Day.... However, there are tons of Christian who disagree... I say but Jesus said, he didn't come to change the Law but to fulfill it ...plus it's a day to stop everything and repent, love, and enjoy the Lord....

I was recently asked why do wicked people prosper... This is a day of reflection and of course much preparation comes before... that said, I was remembering that I read of a king of Israel that wondered the same thing. The interesting part is that his comment after reflecting on the sacrificial system was that he saw the end of the wicked and did not want end up that way. There is so much we can learn about God's plan when we reflect on this and what is going on... May we be able to enter into the rest of the Lord.

On this day of Yom Kippur I thank the LORD for Israel, for the Jewish people whom He has burdened with His election but has never forgotten, and for their land on which He revealed Himself and His lovingkindness in His Son Jeshua HaMashiah, the land on which He saved the world through His cross, and which He chose for His dwelling place on mount Zion forever (Ps 132:13-18). May He still wonderfully reveal His eternal atonement in the blood of Jeshua to the Jewish people who still seek Him. "For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul" (Leviticus 17:11).
