The Walls of Jericho

Archaeology is a discipline that provides us with precious evidence that verifies the accuracy and reliability of the Bible as the inspired Word of God. The Bible account of the walls of Jericho falling flat duirng the conquest of Canaan by the Israelites can be verified through discoveries made at Tel Es Sultan (aka Tel Jericho). The details of the fall of Jericho epitomises the state of the world we live in now - a false sense of security, and in imminent danger of collapse. As God prescribed the trumpets sounding judgement on Jericho, so in the last times we read of the trumpets of God announcing the collapse of wordly systems (Revelation 8:2-6; 11:15), paving the way for the last trump - the triumphal return of Jesus Christ to take up His rightful position as the ultimate ruler of planet earth (1Corinthians 15:51-54).

I found this quite informative, although the illustration of the wall before and after falling was over-simplified to exclude the presence of houses.

To my understanding, the walls fell 200+ years prior to this alleged "wall march" due to either an earthquake or a volcano (or both).
