Amen. My papa (Vietnam vet) used to refer to the Pentagon as "where the generals serve tea". Likewise my brother retired from the USAF decades ago because he had a 3 star trying to force him to sign off that the AF was transporting nuclear materials safely when that clearly wasn't the case. A decade after that, the AF got in trouble for that very thing We need meritocracies everywhere! I pray that Musk gets his chance to clean up waste and rot in our govt🙏🏻. Great show, as always, Mike!

So what's the solution? He leads a special ops team, he tells a guy to go do this during a mission, guy refuses, says he's doing this instead so this guy feels he said no let's promote him?

Or does this guy who doesn't like yes men want a "yes sir" when he gives an order?

This gentleman is absolutely correct. I know from 21 years in the Marines. It’s 100% true.

I have a big problem with this- the military serves the civilian govt. They are yes men and should be. This is the reason the US doesn't have to cook in ineffective elements to weaken the military- like Russia does. That said, who is this guy to know who had what abilities? Did he interview the top brass? No he didn't. And yeah everyone on the ground thinks that things are wrong or could be done better, but they are only concerned with a small piece of the puzzle. When taken as a whole, things make more sense. But, they have no knowledge of the big picture, what the various outcomes could be, nor are they responsible. This dude is just a whiny unhappy worker and complaining about the working for the govt, which is the only reason anyone listens to him. A know-it-all in tha back of the bar who thinks everything would be better if he was in charge.
