i use hercules 4.5 inch cut off wheels, I can make 3 cuts on 1/4 inch 2x4 steel tubing. there is still plenty of disc but not enough to cut into metal that thick so they are replaced but later used for thinner metals. im curious about the bauer and warrior but a bit concerned about it being unsafe.

Agree the Warrior 3 inch cutoff wheels are good. I use them with a small, light Ryobi cut-off tool. Benchmark Abrasives makes good stuff.

I like the Warrior 4.5 too. But I cut to the chase. I put a 6" guard (Amazon) on a good Hercules grinder, and then I use 6" cut offs. It lasts twice as long as a 4.5, and the reach is great. I'd rather be more productive and worry about a little bit of cost.

Just bought a package of Bauer and so far I like them. Folks would be better served to be taught the proper way to use these discs in cutting various thicknesses of metals. From what I see on the various DIY Fab channels...most users haven't a clue. Good discussion, go deeper in regard to the proper techniques using these discs...😎👍7

Good review. Be very careful with cut off wheels.
