Talker/80 Project Update - VS100 Emulation & More

Talker/80 project update. In this video:

- for the impatient, VS 100 emulations starts at 6:50
- new PCB revision: better layout, some audio jack problems fixed, and provisioned for amplifier optional "plug in" board
- TRS-80 Model 1 ribbon cable connects on the back of the PCB now (IDC connector); much cleaner cable management
- VS 100 Voice Synthesizer emulation.
- the previously demonstrated DECtalk / EPSON and TRS Voice Synthesizer emulation modes are shown again. The TRS Voice Synthesizer emulation has been improved a bit.
- moreover, DECtalk singing, different voices and speak rates
- demo of audio amplifier option; with a decent speaker such as the one used here (old PC speaker - note that this is only a speaker, there is no amplifier inside) the Talker/80 amplifier is quite loud and produces audio of decent quality
- still some fine tuning required, but the hardware / PCB is final by now

How cool is that ! Nice programming too ! With all the modern high tech of today we sometimes forget how real technology works. We used to experiment a lot with electronics and at least we understood what we were doing.
That’s the way how we learned everything.
Today the youngsters don’t posses the urge to learn and just look things up on the internet.
